Google Earth has whole of Taipei at High Resolution

just noticed that the East side of Taipei is now at a much higher resolution that before. This means u can clearly see Taipei 101, the Airport, Sogo and Neihu. Download google Earth at

Back from Hong Kong

Back in Taiwan from Hong Kong and have to say HK an amazing place, very similar to London in some respects, the people are very friendly and is not as expensive as i thought it would be. The Harbour is amazing and HK must be one of the top cityscapes in the World.

Went upto the Peak where you get the most amazing views of the City below. Hong Kong now has DisneyLand and when i go back there i intend to visit. The flight from Taiwan costs about 6000NT (£100) return and takes about 75 minutes. From HK Airport to Kowloon and Central takes maybe 15/20 minutes via the Airport Express Train.

Arrived in Hong Kong

Arrived in Hong Kong late last night and got a Hotel in Kowloon and just 2 minutes from the very useful and historic Star Ferry. I have to say the Hong Kong people are very nice and friendly and the city is Magnificent, every view is stunning and you just have to take pictures.

More expensive than Taipei and totally different , i have the say the Women are Prettier in Taipei :) so far and i miss the Chaotic nature of Taiwanese scooters :).

This is my 1st time in HK and the way the city is interwoven with the Hills with such beautiful buildings makes this a top destination for anyone coming to Asia. Also the Double Decker buses , the English signs and the English chocolate remind me of Blighty :).

Funny thing i noticed is that Coke cans here are the old style ring pull from years back.
I'm only here for 3 Days but i will definitely hope to come back for Longer and maybe go to Disneyland Hmong Kong when it opens on Sept 15Th.

Going to Hong Kong

Later on today (Monday 5th) i will be flying off to Hong Kong for 4 days so i wont be updating any pictures till my return. This will be my first time in HK and should be an interesting Experience.

Typhoon Talim Aftermath

Bit late posting, during the morning of the 1st of Sept the Typhoon hit Central Taiwan but the mountains seemed to have the Typhoon to largely disapate.

In the morning we observed the damage, mostly scooters knocked down, broken windows, uprooted trees.

at Taipei 101 the damage seemed a bit worse which was surprising. Nearly all the Trees around 101 where uprooted and even the tower was missing a Window, and what looked like a Window Cleaning trolley had fell off the building.

Anyway the Typhoon has long gone and everyone is ok , and they got a Typhoon Day off Work :)
